Biology has been by fartest the hardest subject I have ever studied, I have had a really hard time trying to understand all the concepts and terms. It is a very complex subject in my opinion so I might not have much understanding or knowledge of it, but something that did get my attention are Glia cells. There are so many of them and with different functions it is amazing how such a little cells are able to do so many fuctions of the brain, which in my opinion is the most important part of our body.
This video explains the importance of glia cells which I believe are more important or at least more interesting than neurons cells.
I loved how the scientist in the video claims that glia "violate the foundation of neuroscience." It seems like biologists assumed for a long time that glia cells sent signals through electricity like every other neuron in the brain. They were so wrong about this, and they even admit that they are "just beginning to explore it." The brain is such a complex organ, but over time I am sure scientists will discover enough about it to help develop cures/treatments for brain disorders.
I think is very important to know the functions and what Glia cells reprents. Also to know how do we benefit from the Glia cells or their performance
